I'm a new member and i'm not even german but knowing that citroen users are the most gentle peolple on the world i hope you will help me.

I have a Volcane 1.9i catalysed .... A very nice car when it works !!!!!!!! But it not very often

By now i have a big BIIIIG ingnition problem on it. I dont have any electricity coming into the ingnition module and i think that the problem is located into the calculator ( BOSCH 0261 200 160) ...

I'm wondering if the calculator can be dead and if it so where can i found a new one ... Can the problem be elsewhere ????

hello,

the motronic system works with a sensor for "dead point", the moment when 1st cylinder is at its highest position. refering to the signal from this sensor, the calculator is working out the ignition point.

you find this sensor on the gearbox, upper side, it's positioned over the flywheel.

without the signal the ignition can't work at all - the calculator has no other reference for ignition.
