14. Juli 201115 J. Hallo, habe meine undichte Diravi Bj. 94, 240TKM zerlegt.
Also lohnt die Abdichtung.
20. August 201412 J. Hello CAMS Jan Goebel Man Thanks for your feedback in the forum Andre-Citroen! I intend to use the rings below in Diravi's XM: Material NBR 90 Shore (80 would suffice)? O-RING TEFLON 34.9X36.6X3mm 47.6X53X2.7mm NBR O-RING-90 35X42.2X3.6mm NBR O-RING-90 26.2X31.6X2.7mm NBR O-RING-90 if needed, will be done the following work with pistons: Wear is done, take a bath and chrome again suffers wear to get the original size. I look forward to your return, thank you! Best Regards, Jeferson Bearbeitet (20. August 201412 J. von Jefersonxm)
21. August 201412 J. Hello Jeferson, we defined for the O-rings: 47,6 x 2,8 (I am positive, the the 2,7 thickness will do) 35 x 3,6 just like you did 26 x 2,8 (again: the size you mentioned should do) We also made the square rings below the PTFE seals, although these do not really 'wear' - if they are still soft they should do the job still. The PTFE seals we defined 34,5 x 26,5 x 2,5; 40,8 x 42,2 x 3 and 25,8 x 27,2 x 3 The tolerances for making these rings is as large as the deviation of the dimension you mention. NBR 90° should work and last a bit. I am not sure about the piston. We will try st.st., ground it for perfect finish and dimension then nickel-plate it with enough hardness. The latter procedure is the risky part, but if the surface is covered well in the process the end result will be good and just like all other heavy duty hydraulic pistons. Consider to change the O-rings of the flange of the actual steering mechanics. Those can be changed while the steering is installed, yet it is a pain in the neck. If the car has done terrific milage it may be sensible to also check the internals of the steering mechanics. Yet this becomes a real interesting piece of work that requires time. Documentation lacks and putting everything together may be irksome until it finally works again. To use the car for testing is out of the question. Therefore a test facility should be available. Best regards, Jan
21. August 201412 J. Hi ACCM Jan Goebelsmann, Thanks by return! I didn't know about the PTFE seals defined 34,5 x 26,5 x 2,5; 40,8 x 42,2 x 3. I'm not with Diravi now and I took the measures in http://www.planete-citroen.com/forum/showthread.php?t=53654&page=4 There are other measures of rubber or PTFE rings square? Best regards, Jeferson
22. August 201412 J. Square seals: 31,5x26,5x2,5 and 40,9x35x2,5 These will most likely not be available. Our supplier had to make a mould. Therefore it is sensible to have ONE outlet = CX-Basis in Karlsruhe. There are also the rings out of rilsan. They need the little notch as they must not seal. Those parts we have machined to drawing. Dimension: 26x31,7x1,3; 35x41,7x1,3 and 36x42x1,5 Again: one outlet is sensible as these parts are CNC parts. And a CNC is not turned on for 1-off quantities. Important to replace: the O-rings. The PTFE rings can be cleaned and than heated in the oven by approx. 60 - 100° They will slightly 'regenarate' - in any case: leakage across these rings is usually minimal. With regard to the square rings: important that they are still soft. One thing that is much, much more important: keep the bellows in good order. Usually one of them is broken and that allows water to ingress into the steering mechanism. And that is the beginning of the end of the piston. The more so if particles find their way into that area too. These rubber bellows do not have to be original - they have to seal and be capable to expand and contract. That is all. Good luck, Jan
22. August 201412 J. Hi ACCM Jan Goebelsmann, Thanks by your big help, you have a excellent acknowledgment about Diravi seals. To sum up, at this time, I understand that I will need the seals below: The PTFE Square Rings: 34,5 x 26,5 x 2,5mm 40,8 x 42,2 x 3mm 25,8 x 27,2 x 3mm 34,9 X 36,6 X 3mm 31,5 x 26,5 x 2,5mm 40,9 x 35 x 2,5mm NBR 47,6 X 53 X 2,7mm 35 X 42,2 X 3,6mm 26,2 X 31,6 X 2,7mm Rings Out of Rilsan 26 x 31,7 x 1,3mm 35 x 41,7 x 1,3mm 36 x 42 x 1,5mm Is same this, missed something? All right? Best Regards, Jeferson Bearbeitet (22. August 201412 J. von Jefersonxm)
23. August 201412 J. There are only three PTFE seals. The square rings below them are also rubber (NBR). See the dimensions I gave above. Best regards, Jan
25. August 201412 J. Hello Jan, Sorry for the repetitive questions, my english is bad and I'm still not sure about the measurements of all rings and they cost expensive, my supplier also need to make mold. Again formulated the information about the rings, below: The PTFE Square Rings: 34.5 x 26.5 x 2.5mm 40.8 x 42.2 x 3mm 25.8 x 27.2 x 3mm 34.9 X 36.6 X 3mm -> It is also a square o-ring Teflon as Planete Citroen posted in http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=782290diravireparprcisions2.jpg link NBR 47.6 X 53 X 2.7mm 35 X 42.2 X 3.6 mm 26.2 X 31.6 X 2.7 mm 31.5 x 26.5 x 2.5mm -> NBR Square 40.9 x 35 x 2.5 mm -> NBR Square Rings Out of Rilsan 26 x 31.7 x 1.3mm 35 x 41.7 x 1.3mm 36 x 42 x 1.5mm Best Regards, Jeferson
25. August 201412 J. Hello Jeferson, no problem about language(s). The PTFE seals are not 'square' (viereckig). The have a thickness of 0,8 - 1mm and a certain width (see the former post). BELOW them are the rubber square rings inside the groove of the housing. They really are 'square' when cut, not round like an O-ring. Their job is to press the PTFE ring against the piston AND to seal the PTFE ring against the housing. Thus the leakage across the PTFE ring / piston is only minimal = a few drops if at all. PTFE is used to enable speed and distance of travel of the Piston. A rubber would disintegrate quickly. Any other kind of seal is more expensive, more difficult to assemble (or complicating the complete unit). And this combination has proven its capability. And to repeat my warning: the Rilsan rings have grooves, either on the inside or on the outsied. This depends on the potential path of leakage. Their job is NOT to seal but to support and guide. Therefore please do not have them made by the dimension only!!! I hope this helps, best regards, Jan
26. August 201412 J. Hi Jan, Now I did understand you! But for a better result, I will get my diravi and open it, then I will have some samples and I will request Telfon o-rings and NBR. When finished, I will post results here. Thanks very much! Best Regards, Jeferson
